So it's not just athletes in the Rumba Crew, nope, that's kind of limiting, we want cool people doing awesome things in all kinds of industries!  So it's only fitting that we introduce the very talented writer-director Mark Edwin Robinson.  Mark debuted with the independent feature, Breaking Dawn, at the rip ol' age of 22.  The film showcased at Cannes and was distributed by Lionsgate Films, quite an accomplishment for someone that young.  Now he's working on his second feature film, The Levenger Tapes, which he wrote and directed and which is slated to come out next year.  Not only is Mark talented, but he's one of the nicest and most humble people in LA.  So we wish him success!

Which Rumba watch do you love?

I'm a huge fan of the Van Dam, also looking forward to the Mercer.

What’s a typical day for you like?

Depends what I'm working on.  Right now I'm in post-production on a film that we're finishing, so all my time is devoted to working with the editor to tighten this movie up, then it'll be onto sound and color.

What are you most proud of in your career?

I don't know that I'm far enough into my career to be proud necessarily, but I'm happy that I've stuck with it.  As a younger director, people are wary to give you money to make movies, and movies are expensive to make, so there are a lot of setbacks starting out. I'm only just finishing my second movie, so I think maybe I'll be more equipped to answer this one a few films down the road.

Now on the flip side, your most embarrassing moment?

My adolescence was one long embarrassing moment - I could write a book on it.

Some sage advice for aspiring fans?

Anyone who is a fan of working in film, I think the best thing to do is to keep your head down and keep working, keep molding your abilities so everything you do gets better and better.

Your favorite movie?

Tough to name just one, lately I would say The Fountain, The Game, Sunshine, Se7en... those are just a few off the top of my head, the list changes...

What one person in the industry would you most want to work with and why?

I don't know that I could narrow it down to just one.  I wouldn't necessarily be working with them, but directors like David Fincher and Danny Boyle blow me away.

Keep doing what I'm doing on a gradually expanding scale.
